Checklist for a trip to the art and crafts supplies store

Arts and crafts shopping haul is always a good idea if you’re really creative or have kids. So here is a quick list for things that will be handy.

Glitter: This is a beautiful, eye catching accessory that glimmers. It’s very decorative and can be applied on finished art works to give it a beautiful outlook.

Clay: Arts and crafts clay comes in two forms – air dry clay and polymer clay. The difference between these two is one dries with exposure to air while the other one has to be baked in an oven after moulding.

Sketch pen: A sketch pen or marker pen, can be define as a pen which tip is made of pressed and porous fibers. It is made up of its own ink source. This can be used as a drawing tool

Yarn: A ball of interlocked wool or fiber. It can be used to design 3D art works amongst other creative uses. It can also be used for knitting, crotchet and so on.

Plastic color crayons: These are plastic, colored, non toxic, pencil-like tools used to color in lines of drawings.

Scissors: We all know scissors. This is a very important tool used to cut up materials on the arts and crafts table precisely and sharply.

Water Colors: water colours are basically a water based paint that has color pigments in it. It can be used to apply color to a paper or a mould.

Markers: This is an alcohol based pen that can be used to make inscriptions on papers and other materials. They are usually brightly colors and easy to apply.

Glue Stick: This is an adhesive in a twist or push up bottle with an applicator that allows the user apply it in a way that is not messy. Glue can be used for wood craft, diy projects and a host of others.

Sequins: This is a tiny, shiny disc that can be glued or sewn on to an object. It can be used in patterns to beautify art works. They are very similar to glitter.

Paint brushes: These are used to apply paint on surfaces. It is long and easy to hold and very easy to clean.

Cardboard: This is a paper based, thicker than normal paper that can be used for paper crafts or cut up into decor.

Outside items: This includes leaves, sticks, flowers, and things that can make patterns or serve as decorative tools or frames. You may not find this at local stores but should be in your tool box.

Paper: This can be regular A4 clean sheets that drawings and paintings can be done on.

Pom poms: This is a nice, affordable and decorative ball made out of fibre that can be placed almost anywhere.

Colour palette: This is a flat metal plate that can be used to mix colors, test their consistency and compare shades.

Tooth Picks: This is an amazing arts and crafts tool that can be used for 3D designs, building structures and so on.

Apron: No need to get your clothes dirty when doing arts and crafts. An apron will do just fine to soak up any stains that may have stained clothes. This will be perfect for kids as they are messy.

With these tools your basic school stationery is ready.
