There are many new features incorporated in various systems and files to protect one against fraud and identity theft as well as increase their security. One of these forms is a passport which is a legal document for declaration and evidence of a person’s nationality and identity. Hence is the case with the United States passport which in the form of a booklet is issued by the United States department. The US passport allows its holders to travel to various countries in the world visa free or requiring visa. The United States also issues Passport Cards through which Americans can travel to near by countries such as Canada by land or sea but not by air.

The United States passport is issued only to the citizens and non citizen American nationals of the United States. Like Great Britain, United States allows its passport holders to have and use passports of another foreign country. Hence dual nationality holding is allowed.

There are basically three kinds of United States passports. The first kind is the regular passport which is issued to all citizens and non-citizen nationals. It has a blue cover and for holders over 16 years of age is valid for 10 years. For holders under 16, it is valid for 5 years from date of issue. The second kind is Official passport with a maroon cover. This passport is issued to United States citizens who are employees and their eligible dependents that have been posted overseas either temporarily or indefinitely. The validity of the Official passport is 5 years from date of issue. The third kind is the diplomatic passport which has a black cover. This kind of passport is issuable to United States diplomats and their eligible dependents that are resided abroad or go abroad regularly for American diplomatic work. Its validity is also 5 years from date of issue. There is another kind of passport called the Emergency passport. It is issued to American citizens abroad in case of an emergency. The basic format of all these kinds of passports is the same. The passports have the United States Seal emblazoned in gold followed by United States of American written on the cover.

There are 32 pages in a normal biometric United States passport but frequent travelers can opt for the 52 page passport with an additional fee. There are two main kinds of pages in this passport; the data page and the signature page. The data page consist of the holders photograph, type, name of issuing country, passport no., surname, given names, nationality, date of birth, sex, place of birth, date of issue, issuing authority, date of expiry, authority and endorsements. At the end of the page is the machine readable code. On the other hand the signature page contains the signature of the passport holder. The signature validates the passport.

US passport can be acquired in person or by mail. A person applying for it in person will have to pay an execution fee and an application fee. The amount depends on whether the person is applying for passport booklet or passport card and his age. When a person applies through mail, he only has to pay application fee. Unlike passports of various other countries, visa pages can be added to the United States Passport. Stolen or lost passports have to be reported to the U.S Department of state either by mail or post or to the U.S embassy if in a foreign country.

The documents needed to apply for a US passport include a 2×2 photograph against white background, notarized copy of birth certificate, a passport request form and personal identification.

Lately the US government has started issuing biometric or electronic passports for enhanced border security.

In the times that we live in, a person seems to be non existent if he or she does not exist on paper. A passport serves just this purpose. It is a declaration of a person’s identity and his nationality. A passport does not necessarily allow a person to visit any other country but allows the person to leave and re-enter the country where it was issued. The British passport is issued by Identity and Passport Service in the UK and by the Governor in British Overseas Territories. It allows its holders to visit numerous countries visa free including Canada, Germany, Italy and all countries that are included in the European Union.

The colour of the British passport is burgundy. This format of the passport was introduced in 1988 prior to the old Blue British passport. However, in 2006 the new UK biometric passport was introduced. This passport is machine readable. It has European Union written on the top with United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Island under it. The coat of arm of the United Kingdom is inscribed in the middle. The word passport follows along with the biometric sign below. It has 32 or 48 pages.

The last page of the UK passport includes data such as a picture of the passport holder which should have been taken within the last 6 months in a light background and of the full face with its shape not being hindered by hair. The picture may be coloured or black and white. The data also includes type, code of issuing state, passport no., surname, given names, nationality, date of birth, sex, place of birth, date of issue, authority, date of expiry and the holder’s signature. At the end of the page is the machine readable code.

The British passport can be issued to British Citizens, British Overseas territory citizens, British overseas citizens, British subjects, British protected persons and British Nationals who are living overseas. If the passport is issued to a person of over 16 years, it is valid for 10 years otherwise normally for 5 years. A person holding British passport may be a dual passport holder as well. If a person is a UK passport holder, marriage alone will not entitle his or her spouse to be a holder too. The spouse will have to reside in the UK for a consecutive period of 3 years after which he will apply for naturalization certificate through Home Office. On obtaining it, he may apply for passport. Furthermore applicants need only supply original documents with their applications otherwise request for passport may not be entertained.

The British passport has many blank pages to accommodate various stamps of different countries visited by the holder. If the pages finish, new blank pages cannot be added to the passport but a new passport will have to be issued.

The cost of obtaining a British passport issued in the United Kingdom was £72.00 in October 2007 which will rise to £77.50 from September 3rd 2009 due to increased passport security measures. The passports issued outside of the United Kingdom by the British consulate or British Embassy cost £124.00 starting July 2009.

A new British passport will be available starting October 2009 which will have enhanced security features in light of identity theft and fake passports. This passport will hold the feature of fingerprint biometrics.

If you are traveling outside of Russia and you are a Russian citizen then you must get a passport. The Russian passport is the main ID for people in the Russian Federation. Normally, citizens get this when they turn 14 years old and it is given by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. This passport will need to be renewed at age 20 and at age 45. Any person older than 14, must have a valid passport.

The passport itself has the picture of the person. It also has their name, sex, birthplace and birthday. It may also have their address, military status, children, marriage and other information about them. It is written in the Russian language.

To use this passport to go to outside countries then a travel passport must be obtained. To be able to get this then it is much more detailed and difficult. There is a diplomatic passport, service passport, and seaman’s passport that is issued. So if you are not a diplomat, government employee or seaman then you may not be able to get one and leave the country. To be a normal citizen and obtain a travel passport then there are huge restrictions.

When you do obtain a travel passport then you are allowed to visit 81 countries. If you are in the Russian country you may be stopped at any time and asked for a Russian passport. This is a way for the government to make sure that there are no abuses and to help stop illegal immigration. It will also tell if a person is wanted for a crime. If you are caught without your passport the consequences can be severe. Anyone that has grown up in Russia already knows this and are diligent to keep their passport with them at all times. This is part of living in the Russian country under the Russian government. You must follow their rules. If you are from another country and are visiting then you will have to show them your passport from your country. This is extremely important- you must carry your passport on you at all times.

So far, holders of the ordinary Russian travel passport can visit 81 countries, either visa free or visa-on-entry. The reason for this is that the Russian government has agreements with these countries. It is a contract that the Russian government claims keeps the people much safer. If you decide that you are from Russia and would like to travel abroad- the first thing to do is to decide if the place that you want to travel to is accepted by the Russian government. This is important so you don’t waste money and time. Once you have determined where you want to go then proceed with obtaining a travel passport. Get all of the necessary documents together before you go to fill out your application. Once you do- be sure to be very honest on your application. If you follow these rules then you are well on your way to traveling outside of Russia.

Passports of the old designs retain their validity until the expiration date but are not issued anymore. All three designs are fully equivalent to each other.

The two more recent designs are trilingual and written in Polish, English and French. The oldest of the three designs is additionally written in Russian with the exception of the page with personal data which is only bilingual (Polish and English).

If you need to obtain a New Zealand Passport, you need to learn what the requirements, eligibility, signup process and document that are required are. These are very important to getting a New Zealand Passport. The Department of Internal Affairs issues, extends and renews New Zealand passports. Their offices are in Wellington, Auckland and Christchurch. Only citizens of New Zealand can get a passport.

The Passport itself is very nice. The front has the New Zealand Coat of Arms and it is dark blue. There is a biometric symbol on the bottom. The inside has all of your information. It will include a picture of you, your last name, nationality, birth date, country, passport number, sex, and place of birth, date of expiration, date issued and type. These are normal things that are included in most passports in the world.

To be eligible to get a passport, you need to be born there, be legally adopted by a parent that is a New Zealand Resident, be a British subject resident in 1948, been granted citizenship of New Zealand, or be born overseas to a parent that is a New Zealand Citizen. There are other ways that you can be granted citizenship in New Zealand. For more information contact the Department of International Affairs. They will be able to answer all of your questions and lead you in the right direction to get all of the information.

The requirements and documents that are needed are proof of New Zealand Citizenship, proof of name change details, proof of your identity, photographs (two identical ones) and application fees. Sometimes supporting documents are needed. These include citizenship, marriage, civil union and birth documents. These need to be original documents. Most people applying for a passport for the first time do not need these documents.

The signup process includes a fee between $80 NZ and $580 NZ depending on if you are an adult or child under 16 and also how fast you would like the passport. To be able to get a passport you need to make sure that you can pay for it first. It would be terrible to go through the whole process just to find out that you can’t afford it. Also, decide on what time you will need it by. The price will depend on the time you need the passport and also if the passport is for a child or adult.

So if you need to get a passport in New Zealand then you need to know this process. Get all of your documents together before you start filling out the paperwork. Get the paperwork from the Department of International Affairs. Let them know your situation so that you can get the correct information. It is important to give them the correct information so that your passport will not be denied. This is not good if you plan on traveling. Get all of the facts and get your passport in time so that you can travel anywhere you wish. Start the process now so that you have it in time.

Our world has become a global village. Travel is an important part of our daily lives. So is our identification. A document that fulfills both requirements is a passport which declares our nationality and identity along with giving us the option to travel overseas. Such are passports issued by the Mexican government to its citizens. As of late 2007, all American require a passport to enter Mexico.

The official language of Mexico is Spanish. Mexican passports are dark green in colour. It has the Mexican coat of arms inscribed in the middle of the cover. It has the official name of the country Estados Unidos Mexicanos written around the coat of arms. This is written in Spanish meaning United Mexican States. The top of the passport has Mexico written on it and below the word passport written in Spanish as pasaporte.

There are three kinds of Mexican passports that are issued. The personal passport is issued for personal travelling or business trips. The second kind known as the Diplomatic passport is issued to Mexican diplomats travelling abroad as well as to high ranking officials. The third kind is the Official passport which is issued to Mexicans on official business related traveling. These three types consist of a data page which includes the photo of the pass holder which has to be 3.5 x 4.5 cm, type, name of issuing country, passport no., surname, given names, nationality, date of birth, sex, place of birth, date of issue, issuing authority, date of expiry, electronic bar code and hologram picture. At the end of the page is the machine readable code.

The text in these passports is written in English, French and Spanish. To enter Mexico, the Mexican government requires a person to carry a valid photo identification, valid proof of citizenship and tourist cards. Most of the adults entering Mexico need a valid passport. However some nationalities are required to obtain a consular visa from the Mexican consulate. For individuals who do not have ownership of Mexican passport but wish to visit the country, they will be issued tourist cards by the Mexican Government free of charge.

The Mexican passport issued can be valid for 1 year, 3 years, 6 years or 10 years. The cost of issuing Mexican passport will be rising soon. Estimated costs according to required validity of passport are for up to 1 year: $385 pesos; passport holding validity of 3 years: $800 pesos; passport having validity of over 3 years and up to 6 years: $1,100 pesos. It is issued by the Mexican Consulate or the Mexican Embassy. The people who are eligible for acquiring a Mexican passport must full fill prerequisites which include 5 year residency with an FM2. They must also pass an oral quiz test which is taken in Spanish and has questions related to Mexico; their culture, traditions, history etc.

With increasing security risk, most countries have introduced biometric or electronic passports. However the Mexican passport does not have any such features as yet.
