Symbiosis Institute of Business Management,popularly known as SIBM is a part of the prestigious Symbiosis group of Institutions. The Institute was established in the year 1978. Since then the institute is pioneering a high degree of excellence in imparting management education. The students are selected on the basis of a written test conducted, SNAP, the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test, conducted by Symbiosis. Alongside, the candidates have to separately apply for SIBM.
The candidates shortlisted in the written test are then taken through rigorous group discussion and then personal interview. The institute offers a number of courses. Masters in Business administration, this is a two year full time course. Total 180 students are selected for this course each year. The students are needed to have a 3 year full time graduation degree from any recognized University with at least 50 % marks to take the test. The students from reserved category are required to have 45 % marks in their graduation. One Year Diploma weekend Programmes at Lavale, this course provides a dual specialization to the working executives.
The degree is provided in the fields of marketing, finance, operations and human resource management. Each of the discipline in this course has 50 seats. The candidates are required to have a bachelor’s degree and they have to go through a one hour written test. Executive MBA weekend Programme, this is a thirty month programme, classes being held in Saturdays and Sundays. The aspirant should have a bachelor’s degree with five years of work experience.
The candidates are chosen on the basis of a written test followed by personal interview. There are total 50 seats for this course in each of the disciplines. This course especially focuses on developing the skills of the professionals in the fields of strategic decision making, adaptability and integrity in international perspective.
