SP Jain Institute of Management & Research is an institution founded by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. It was founded in the year 1981. It is one of the top ten BSchools in India.
The Institute is located in Mumbai. Various types of courses applicable to new generation business management models are offered in this Institution. In its earlier days , it was affiliated to Bombay University, later on it was detached from the University to have freedom in scheduling its curriculum according to the changing times.
The candidates are first short listed on the basis of their CAT or XAT score on a cut off marks determined by the institute, this is followed by a rigorous group discussion and personal interview. Academic records also play a vital role in the selection procedure in SP Jain. A number of courses are offered by it. Post Graduate diploma in Management, it is a two year full time course. Hostel facilities are provided to the students.
The specialization are offered in the fields of marketing, finance, operations management and information management. A three year graduation degree from any recognized University is required. Post Graduate Programme in Management, is an eleven month full time programme, this is also residential. The candidates have to have a three years graduation degree along with 5 years of work experience to apply for this course. Post Graduate Diploma in Systems Management and Masters in Information Technology, this is a postgraduate diploma rewarded and is highly valued in the Indian IT industry.
The masters degree in information technology is conducted in a joint venture with the Virginia Tech College of Engineering. The applicants should either have an engineering degree or a Bachelor’s degree with mathematics as a subject. Special course is offered for family run businesses known as the Family Managed Business. The applicant should have a significant stake in his/ her family run business. Then there are Executive Management Programme, A Doctoral Programme and many other short duration programmes in offer.
