National Institute of Industrial Engineering

National Institute of Industrial Engineering is situated in the heart of Mumbai, the commercial capital of India. The institute is famously known as NITIE. This is an institute providing in depth knowledge to the budding managers of the country to handle the critical business scenarios efficiently.

The institute was established with a vision to place Indian industry in the global map. The institute was founded in the year 1963 by the Government of India. A number of courses are offered by the institute. PGDIE, this course has started since 1971.

The programme is spread over a large number of areas , it provides specialization in supply chain management, operations management, human resource management, finance and marketing management. No written test is conducted for this course, the candidates after applying for the course are called for group discussion and personal interview.

The graduates produced from this course have continuously been serving the nation in uncertain situations related to supply network, in the area of complex networking and scheduling and in the areas of enterprise wide integration. PGDIM, for this course the candidates are required to have a 60 % marks in any engineering stream. The marks criteria is 55% for the students of reserved category. The candidates need to take the CAT conducted by the IIMs. On the declaration of the CAT results, the candidates can apply online for the course, then depending on their CAT scores, candidates are then called for their group discussions and personal interviews.

The sponsored candidates taking admission in the course should have at least 2 years of work experience in the sponsoring organization. One other course offered by the institute is PGDISEM. This course also have the same criteria as that of the above mentioned one. PGDITM is one more course in offer. The requirements are same as the above two.
