Indian Statistical Institute Kolkata

Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) was established by professor P.C. Mohalanobis in Kolkata on 17th December, 1931 and added the status of an Institutional of National Importance by an act of the Indian Parliament in 1959. It is an exclusive institute developed to research, teaching and application of statistics, natural science and social sciences.

The head office of ISI is situated in the northern border of the metropolis of Kolkata. There are also two centers situated in Delhi and Bangalore. Study in statistics and linked disciplines are the primary activity of the institute. Teaching activities are embarked mostly in Kolkata, Delhi and Bangalore. The offices of the institute situated in numerous other cities in India are chiefly involved in projects and consultancy in Statistical Quality Control and operations Research.

The courses offered at Indian Statistical Institute include:

• Undergraduate Programs: ISI Kolkata offers 3 years B.Stat. (Hons.) And B.Math (Hons.) courses at the Undergraduate level.
