Bangalore University is a public university situated in Bangalore, Karnataka State, India. It is one of the oldest in India, dating from 1886 and is famous as one of the leading major universities in India. The university nears the status of “Potential for Excellence” which is set aside for top ten universities in India under the Guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC).
The Bangalore University was established on 10 July 1964. At first, Bangalore University was constructed around two main university central college and University Of Vishvesarya College Of Engineering. Nowadays, the University is one of the Hot Spots of learning in the Bangalore City.
Bangalore University is planned into six faculties: Arts, Science, Commerce and Management, Education, Law and Engineering. It has 41 post-graduate departments, one post graduate Centre at Kolar (begun during 1994-95), 3 constituent colleges, 473 affiliated collages of which 88 have Post-Graduate courses and several other Centers and Directorates of higher learning and study. Having almost 300,000 students registered in its diverse colleges, Bangalore University is one of the biggest universities in India and possibly the planet.
The present Vice-Chancellor is Dr. A.N. Prabhudev. The university was accredited by NAAC and gained Five Star status in 2001. It produced many great alumni through its Central Collage and UVCE Sir C.V Raman, Nobel victorious, was linked with the University while working at the Indian Institute of Science. BU with over 400 collages in Bangalore is donating to the production of world class graduates. More graduates of the BU are studying and operating in numerous countries with victorious positions.
The university Law Collage, Bangalore University, situated in the garden city of Bangalore is a founder legal-education organization in the state of Karnataka. The collage, commonly known as ULC – Bangalore, is broadly recognized as one of the country’s best government run law schools. It has constantly been positioned amongst the top 10 law collages in India by India Today in its annual reports, with the highest being positioned as the second best law collage in the country for the year 2001.
There is wealthy diversity of student interest groups which allow students to pursue every possible interest outside the classroom. The student proposal at ULC is its supreme power and a strength of association reigns throughout a student’s stay at ULC. At present students come from all areas of the country and numerous distant countries as well unlike initially where students from urban and rural areas of Karnataka looked at ULC to pursue the study of law.
