About the University
The Aspen University is based in Denver, Colorado and is more than 40 years old. There are two online study options:
Online Interactive – The courses are 8-weeks in duration and offered throughout 5 scheduled terms per year.
Online Independent – Student select a start date that is the 1st or the 16th of any month. They take up to 10 weeks to complete each course.
Programs Offered
The University offers Doctorate Degree Course (D. Ed) – in Leadership & Learning. The Master’s Degree Programs are MBA (in Finance, Project management, Information Management, Pharmaceutical Marketing & Management), M. Sc. (Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Marketing, Nursing, Criminal Justice), Master of Education. Bachelor’s Degree Programs are B. Sc. (Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Early Childhood Education). Certificate programs are offered in Project Management, Information Systems, Information Technology, Object oriented Application Developer Certificate, & Web Developer & Java Developer Certificate. Corporate Group educational programs are also provided.
Fees
Fees for Doctorate, Masters degree & Certificate programs is $ 750 per course, including textbooks, while it is $ 600 per course for the Bachelors degree programs, including textbooks. Special discounts are available to U.S. Military.. both serving & veterans for Graduate & Undergraduate programs.
Financial Aid
The students can also apply for Financial Aid, if they are US citizens, or non- citizens, fulfilling certain eligibility criteria, like not being convicted of drug offences, & of never having taken a federal loan, etc. Federal Pell Grant is given for Undergraduate courses. Federal Subsidized Stafford Loan & Federal Unsubsidized Stafford Loan are administered by the United States Department of Education.
The academic year is a minimum of 32 weeks and 24 credit hours (full-time). Each student has to register for a minimum of 4 courses in an academic year. Those students who are receiving federal student financial aid have to maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) at the Aspen University if they want to continue to be eligible for aid. Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) is measured both qualitatively and quantitatively. Qualitative Component refers to the entire academic history of a student. On failing, the student can retake it twice. For all Graduate and Undergraduate courses, a student has to maintain a minimum grade-point average (2.0 for Undergraduate and 3.0 for Graduate – on a 4.0 scale). On getting lesser GPA, these students will be placed on probation. The GPA is evaluated at the end of the academic year. Students have to enroll in at least 6 credit hours or two 3 credit courses at the beginning of each academic term, if they want to apply for financial aid. The students are given a maximum of 150% of the anticipated regular completion time to complete their program, for undergraduate courses, while it can go up to 200% for graduate courses.
Applying for Admission
The students can apply by filling up & submitting the online application form. $ 75 $75 application fee is to be paid, which is $50 for the Undergraduate Programs. $100 is to be paid as credit evaluation fee in case you wish to have previously earned credit evaluated for possible transfer into your Aspen degree program. The student’s resume is to be attached along with three letters of recommendation. For all courses except Ed.D. program, a statement of goals is to be submitted.
